Chainlink Data Feeds are now live on Polygon zkEVM, enabling developers to build advanced DeFi applications with the industry-leading data solution.

The functionality enabled by Chainlink Data Feeds allows DeFi developers to easily tap external price data to build and launch highly effective liquidity protocols, advanced decentralized exchanges, and more.

“With the integration of Chainlink Data Feeds, DeFi can take the next step on Polygon zkEVM. Chainlink oracles unlock a host of DeFi applications, bringing opportunity for new dApps that truly leverage the unique value propositions of a ZK rollup, including fast finality and robust security,” said Marc Boiron, CEO of Polygon Labs. “This functionality is set to unlock the deployment of several significant DeFi protocols on Polygon zkEVM early next year.”

Developers building on Polygon zkEVM access an environment that is fully compatible with the EVM at a byte-code level, which means that most Ethereum-native tooling and infrastructure are cross-functional, out of the box, with few or no changes required. As such, developers will be able to enjoy Ethereum’s robust security, a trustless zero-knowledge bridge, fast finality, and other cutting-edge features made possible by Polygon zkEVM.

Polygon zkEVM Devs, Meet Best-in-Class Oracles

“We’re thrilled to be supporting Polygon zkEVM with secure and reliable price data that empowers developers to begin building lightning-fast DeFi applications that fully leverage Polygon zkEVM’s speed and scalability,” stated Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs. “Security is a necessity for the long-term vision of any DeFi protocol, and with Chainlink’s robust, time-tested oracle networks now live on Polygon zkEVM, we’re excited to see what gets built.”

With multiple layers of decentralization at the price data, oracle node, and oracle network levels, Chainlink Data Feeds are resistant to API downtime, flash crash outliers, and data manipulation attacks like flash loans — making them the best fit for security-first DeFi protocols build on Polygon zkEVM.
